Stewards are a global group of users with complete access to the wiki interface on all public Wikimedia wikis. They have the technical ability to modify all local and global user rights, change the status and name of global accounts, and access any of the permissions available to administrators and bureaucrats.
The use of steward rights is restricted by policy. Stewards will not use their technical access when there are local users who can use that access, except in emergencies.
Stewards are elected by the global Wikimedia community through yearly steward elections held between January and February.
Stewards are volunteers, meaning that they do not work for the Wikimedia Foundation.
Stewards are also not arbitrators or mediators. To resolve a conflict on a small project, please attempt local resolution, and file a request for comment on Meta-Wiki if local resolution cannot be achieved.
Because stewards can access personal information and suppressed data, stewards also need to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Candidates must meet account and activity requirements, including holding administrator rights on one Wikimedia wiki for at least three months, and made 600 edits, with 50 made within the last six months. Candidates must obtain at least 30 votes in favor with an 80% support ratio.
There are currently 31 stewards in the Wikimedia movement : Alaa; Ajraddatz; Albertoleoncio; AmandaNP; AntiCompositeNumber; Base; Bsadowksi1; DerHexer; Elton; EPIC; HakanIST; Hasley; Hoo man; JJMC89; Johannes89; Jon Kolbert; MarcGarver; Martin Urbanec; Masti; Melos; Mykola7; RadiX; Sakretsu; Schniggendiller; Sotiale; Stryn; Tegel; Vermont; Wim b; xaosflux; Yahya

Hi! I am a CheckUser and administrator on the Dutch Wikipedia and have been a global rollbacker since 2019. I've been involved in cross-wiki affairs since 2018. My involvement with the global community consists mainly of maintaining the global spam blacklist, the global abuse filters, and watching out for cross-wiki abuse. I do have a high level of knowledge of using the Checkuser tools and have played a major role with some of the complex investigations on my home wiki.

My home wiki is the Dutch Wikipedia, where I'm currentlty an administrator, checkuser, member of the Dutch speaking VRTS team, and former member of the Arbitration Committee. Thoroughout time, I become a global rollbacker and global sysop. I have been a member of the Ombuds Commission since February 2023. I have also had the honor of serving as the Commission's chair for the past year. Thoroughout the past months, multiple colleagues have recommended me to run for steward. This year, I will be able to devote more time again to wiki work. If I am elected as a steward, I am mainly planning to assist in the areas I currently work in : countervandalism and anti-spam work, supporting the team in battling cross-wiki and long-term abuse. I would also like to assist with handling VRTS requests related to (b)locks and suppression requests. I would also be interested to help out with maintaining the relations with the Wikimedia Foundation.

My venture with Wikipedia in earnest began in 2020 on plwiki. I currently serve as an administrator, a checkuser, an abuse filter operator, and a member of the Arbitration Committee. I manage the "Did you know..." section on the main page. I am also an administrator here on Meta-Wiki. Since Einsbor stepped down from stewardship some time ago, we have only one Polish-speaking steward. Considering that plwiki is one of the large wikis, I believe a second one would be a valuable addition.

I registered my account in early 2014, after which I started editing and writing articles primarily on the Russian Wikipedia. Over the last few years I have been recommended to run for steward by nearly 30 users, including current and former stewards. Last year I was quite busy in real life, but this year I expect to devote more time to my wiki work.

I joined Wikipedia in 2019 and have been contributing regularly since 2020. Bangla Wikipedia is my home wiki, where I serve as an administrator and oversighter.

I have contributing on Wikimedia since 2016. Currently, my main contributions are at Wikidata, where I also serve the community as an admin and oversighter.

I've been editing Wikimedia projects since around 2008. I was previously a steward between 2018 and 2020, and then again briefly between 2022 and 2023. I am currently a global sysop, as well as a checkuser on the English Wikipedia.
As the result of an English Wikipedia ArbCom case in November 2022, I had both checkuser and oversighter rights removed for cause. This incident is a blot on what I otherwise hope can be agreed to be a good record of stewardship.
If re-elected, I can again offer the steward team my technical knowledge, previous experience with the tools, familiarity with global policy, experience with combating spam/automated vandals, and a good chunk of my free time.
I know I messed up.
I am sorry about that.
I hope that the community can see fit to give me a second chance to do the work that I enjoy and do well.

I primarily speak English and Malayalam and can understand basic Hindi and Dutch. My primary areas of interest would be using my technical skills to make things easier and better for other stewards and contributors.
WikiBayer (de-N; bar-N; en-1)
